Amazon Stockout Prevention and Restock Timing

Amazon stockout prevention for FBA: see which SKUs will run out, when, and whether inbound stock lands first, ranked by days of cover from Amazon's data. The Stockout Prevention Skill reads live FBA inventory and sales velocity through the Selling Partner MCP, checks each at-risk SKU against its inbound arrival windows, and changes nothing: it is read-only.

Is this the right Skill?

Use it for a clear operating job.

Best for
  • "Am I going to run out?" across the FBA catalog
  • Whether a shipment arrives before a SKU sells out
  • Deciding what to send in next
Use another path when

Creating or changing inbound shipments, price changes, stranded or aged-inventory fees, inventory ledger reconciliation, AWD, listings, or advertising.

Starter prompt

Start with the task, then add your scope.

Copy this into a connected client and replace the account, date, ASIN, or threshold details with yours.

Which of my FBA SKUs are at risk of stocking out in the US? Use Amazon's planning numbers where you can, rank by days of cover, and check whether my inbound shipments land before each at-risk SKU runs out.
The Skill will request any required context or approval before guarded actions.
The outcome

A defined result, not a generic answer.

A days-of-cover table with its source named, every at-risk SKU checked against its inbound arrival window, and the single most important next action.

Inputs
  • Live FBA inventory by SKU
  • FBA sales velocity over the last 30 complete days
  • Amazon's FBA inventory planning report, when the host can read it
Outputs
  • Days of cover by SKU, source named
  • Each stockout date beside its inbound arrival window
  • Next action, with shipment work handed to FBA inbound
Workflow

The playbook your agent follows.

  1. 01

    Read the numbers

Pull live FBA inventory and FBA-only sales velocity, then Amazon's days of supply and recommended ship-in quantity and date from its planning report.

  2. 02

    Rank by days of cover

Band each SKU as out of stock, critical, warning, or healthy, using Amazon's days of supply where it exists and a labelled estimate where it does not.

  3. 03

    Check the inbound pipeline

For each flagged SKU, find the shipments that hold it and compare each delivery window with the date the SKU runs out.

  4. 04

    Recommend and hand off

Lay out the levers with their trade-offs, hand shipment work to the FBA inbound Skill, and end with the single most important next action.

Guardrails

What keeps the workflow dependable.

Read-only: it never changes a price, a listing, or a shipment
Every quantity, rate, and date comes from a tool result, and estimates are labelled as estimates
Price is not a lever it offers
Healthy is an answer: when nothing is at risk, it says so
