ChatGPT connects to Amazon Vendor Central through the Kuudo Amazon Vendor Central MCP server, which exposes the vendor side of the Selling Partner API as tools ChatGPT can call. Add the server as a custom MCP server under Plugins in ChatGPT on the web, sign in to Kuudo with OAuth, and name the vendor code and marketplace. ChatGPT then answers from your live purchase orders, invoices and Retail Analytics.
Reads change nothing, and a write applies your workspace policy first, which can require a person to approve it. ChatGPT lists it under Plugins as a custom MCP server; earlier versions of ChatGPT called the same thing an app or a connector.
Your MCP server hostname is private to your deployment. Replace {your-private-mcp-host} with the private host shown in your dashboard.
What ChatGPT can do in Vendor Central
Amazon positions the vendor side of the Selling Partner API (SP-API) as web service integration for retail and direct fulfillment trading, usable instead of EDI (electronic data interchange) or alongside it. Through it, ChatGPT reaches:
- Purchase orders: new orders, acknowledgements, cancellations and change orders.
- Shipments: shipment requests, confirmations and labels.
- Invoices: invoice submission and transaction status.
- Direct fulfillment: direct fulfillment orders, shipping and inventory.
- Retail Analytics and catalog: Vendor Retail Analytics reports, Data Kiosk, Catalog Items, Listings Items and A+ Content, through the shared Selling Partner tools.

What you need before connecting Vendor Central to ChatGPT
- A Kuudo workspace with the Amazon Vendor Central MCP server deployed, and access to its dashboard.
- An authorized Vendor Central account, through the Selling Partner API with Login with Amazon. On Kuudo Pro and Kuudo Scale that runs through Kuudo's managed app, and an agency can send its client an authorization invitation; on Kuudo Community you connect your own Amazon app. See Amazon account authorization.

OpenAI lists full support, reads and writes, on Business and Enterprise/Edu, and read and fetch only on Pro; its help center does not list Plus. Connect Vendor Central to ChatGPT
1. Copy the Vendor Central server URL
In your Kuudo dashboard, copy the endpoint of the Amazon Vendor Central MCP server:
https://{your-private-mcp-host}/mcpChatGPT signs in to Kuudo with OAuth, so there is no API key to copy or paste.
2. Add it as a custom MCP server
- In ChatGPT on the web, open Plugins.
- Select +, then Add custom MCP server.
- Name it
amazon-vendor-central. - Paste the server URL and choose OAuth for authentication.
- Save, then sign in to Kuudo when ChatGPT prompts you.

3. Enable it in a conversation
Start a new conversation and add amazon-vendor-central from the composer, or mention it by name. ChatGPT asks you to confirm each write action by default: read the tool input it will send before you confirm, especially for order acknowledgements, shipments and invoices.
4. Check the connection
Ask a question that reads your Vendor Central data without changing anything:
Which purchase orders arrived in the last 7 days? Don't acknowledge anything.ChatGPT should list recent purchase orders for the authorized vendor account. An access error usually means the Vendor Central account is not authorized yet.

Vendors often hold several vendor codes, and Amazon runs Vendor Central in North America, Europe and the Far East. Say which code and marketplace you mean:

Troubleshooting Vendor Central in ChatGPT
Add custom MCP server is missing
OpenAI lists custom MCP servers for Pro, Business and Enterprise/Edu on ChatGPT on the web; its help center does not list Plus. On a workspace plan, an admin may also need to allow custom MCP servers.
ChatGPT sees no purchase orders
The server is connected, but the Vendor Central account is not authorized for your workspace yet, or no orders arrived in the window you asked about. Authorize the account in Kuudo, or widen the date range.
A vendor code or marketplace is missing
The authorization covers the vendor codes and regions it was granted for. Authorize the missing code or region in Kuudo, then ask again.
Sign-in fails or returns 401
Reconnect the server from its details page in ChatGPT's settings and sign in to Kuudo again, with an account in the workspace that runs the server. The URL must end with /mcp.

Can ChatGPT acknowledge purchase orders or submit invoices?
The Vendor Central MCP can, within the scope of the credentials you grant: a write such as acknowledging a purchase order applies your workspace policy first, which can require a person to approve it.
