ChatGPT connects to Amazon Seller Central through the Kuudo Amazon Selling Partner MCP server, which exposes Selling Partner API operations as tools ChatGPT can call. Add the server as a custom MCP server under Plugins in ChatGPT on the web, sign in to Kuudo with OAuth, and name the marketplace. ChatGPT then answers from your live listings, inventory and orders.
Every action stays inside the Selling Partner authorization you grant and your workspace policy. ChatGPT lists it under Plugins as a custom MCP server; earlier versions of ChatGPT called the same thing an app or a connector.
Your MCP server hostname is private to your deployment. Replace {your-private-mcp-host} with the private host shown in your dashboard.
What ChatGPT can do in Seller Central
The Selling Partner API (SP-API) is Amazon's interface to Seller Central for software, with one API for each area of the business. Through it, ChatGPT reaches:
- Listings and catalog: listing content and attributes, catalog data, restrictions and listing issues.
- Inventory and fulfillment: FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon) inventory, inbound shipments and fulfillment orders.
- Orders and buyers: orders, shipping status and buyer messages.
- Pricing: your offers and competitive pricing data.
- Reports and finances: Seller Central reports, settlements and reimbursements.
See the Amazon SP-API tools reference for every tool, and the Amazon Selling Partner MCP page for the server.
What you need before connecting Seller Central to ChatGPT
- A Kuudo workspace with the Amazon Selling Partner MCP server deployed, and access to its dashboard.
- An authorized seller account. On Kuudo Pro and Kuudo Scale, the account owner consents once to Kuudo's managed Selling Partner API app with Login with Amazon, or an agency sends the client an authorization invitation. On Kuudo Community you connect your own Amazon app. See Amazon account authorization.
- A ChatGPT plan that can add custom MCP servers, used in ChatGPT on the web. OpenAI lists full support, reads and writes, on Business and Enterprise/Edu, and read and fetch only on Pro; its help center does not list Plus. Workspace permissions apply, so an admin may need to allow custom MCP servers. See OpenAI's guide to connecting custom MCP servers.
Connect Seller Central to ChatGPT
1. Copy the Selling Partner server URL
In your Kuudo dashboard, copy the endpoint of the Amazon Selling Partner MCP server:
https://{your-private-mcp-host}/mcpChatGPT signs in to Kuudo with OAuth, so there is no API key to copy or paste.
2. Add it as a custom MCP server
- In ChatGPT on the web, open Plugins.
- Select +, then Add custom MCP server.
- Name it
amazon-seller-central, so it stays distinct from an Amazon Ads server. - Paste the server URL and choose OAuth for authentication.
- Save, then sign in to Kuudo when ChatGPT prompts you.
OpenAI's steps for adding a custom MCP server describe the current form.
3. Enable it in a conversation
Start a new conversation and add amazon-seller-central from the composer, or mention it by name. ChatGPT asks you to confirm each write action by default: read the tool input it will send before you confirm, especially for listings, prices and shipments.
4. Check the connection
Ask a question that reads your Seller Central data without changing anything:
Which marketplaces is our seller account active in? Don't change anything.ChatGPT should list the marketplaces your seller account participates in. An access error usually means the seller account is not authorized yet.
Name the Seller Central marketplace ChatGPT works in
Amazon runs the Selling Partner API from three regional endpoints: North America, Europe and the Far East, which covers Asia-Pacific. Each marketplace belongs to one of them, so tell ChatGPT which marketplace you mean and its calls go to the right endpoint:
Use the United Kingdom marketplace for this conversation.Every marketplace your seller account reaches is available. An agency reaches each authorized client account through the same connection, so name the client as well.
Seller Central prompts to start with in ChatGPT
- "Audit the listing for SKU ABC-123 and propose fixes." The listing optimizer Skill previews each change and waits for your explicit approval before it submits anything.
- "Compare sessions, conversion and sales by ASIN for the last 30 days." See Analyze Amazon Sales and Traffic.
- "Which FBA SKUs run out before their inbound shipments arrive?" See Amazon Stockout Prevention and Restock Timing.
- "What did our last settlement pay out, and what was deducted?" The settlement report guide explains how to read the answer.
Troubleshooting Seller Central in ChatGPT
Add custom MCP server is missing
OpenAI lists custom MCP servers for Pro, Business and Enterprise/Edu on ChatGPT on the web; its help center does not list Plus. On a workspace plan, an admin may also need to allow custom MCP servers.
ChatGPT cannot see the seller account
The server is connected, but the seller account is not authorized for your workspace yet. Authorize it in Kuudo, or send its owner an invitation, then ask again.
One area returns an access error while others work
Amazon gates each Selling Partner API area by role. An error in one area, such as finances or buyer messaging, while listings and orders work, means the authorization does not include the role Amazon requires for that area.
Sign-in fails or returns 401
Reconnect the server from its details page in ChatGPT's settings and sign in to Kuudo again, with an account in the workspace that runs the server. The URL must end with /mcp.
Frequently asked questions
Does Amazon offer its own Seller Central app for ChatGPT?
Amazon's announcement of its Selling Partner plugin names Amazon Quick and Claude, not ChatGPT. Kuudo's Amazon Selling Partner MCP works in ChatGPT as a custom MCP server, and in any other MCP client your team uses. See Amazon's Seller Assistant plugin vs Kuudo.
Can ChatGPT change my listings or prices?
The Selling Partner MCP includes write tools, limited to the authorization you grant and your workspace policy. ChatGPT can call them on Business and Enterprise/Edu, where it asks you to confirm each write by default; OpenAI limits Pro to read and fetch. With the listing Skill, a listing change is previewed field by field and waits for your explicit approval before anything is submitted.
Which marketplaces can ChatGPT work in?
Every marketplace your seller account reaches, across North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific. Name the marketplace in the conversation, and the server sends each call to the Amazon region that serves it.
Can an agency connect its clients' Seller Central accounts?
Yes. The agency sends each client an authorization invitation for their Selling Partner account, the client consents once without sharing a login, and the account becomes reachable from the agency's ChatGPT connection.
Can ChatGPT work on Seller Central and Amazon Ads in one conversation?
Yes. Add the Amazon Ads MCP as a second custom MCP server and enable both in the same conversation, so ChatGPT can set ad performance beside inventory, orders and listings. See How to connect Amazon Ads to ChatGPT.
